Kayla Hano-Canik has been a lifelong resident of Springfield, Louisiana. She graduated from Baton Rouge Community College with an Associate’s degree in Applied Science in Veterinary Technology in 2014. She then received a passing score for the VTNE and became a Registered Veterinary Technician shortly after graduation. She has worked in the veterinary field since 2012 and has developed a strong passion for patient care and critical/emergency medicine.

She holds a very special place in her heart for all Pit Bulls and actually has two of her own. She focuses specifically on loving and understanding the most misunderstood breed while doing her best to be an advocate for them. In her free time, you can find her hanging out with her daughter, her two daughter pups – Ava and Rayne, and her feline son- KitKat. She enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends and sometimes allowing her creativity to shine through with very minor household projects.

As Lead RVT at Animal Care Center and Pet Care Center she has a strong passion for developing a bond with all of our clients and patients and she strives to guide her team to provide the very best patient care to ensure you can find trust in us to love your pets as if they were our own. She has a dream to one day expand her knowledge and specialize specifically in emergency and critical care for small animals.
