Dr. Melanie Lavergne

Dr. Melanie Lavergne is originally from Baker, LA. She obtained her Bachelors in Animal Science at Southeastern Louisiana University (SLU) in 1982 where she graduated with Magna Cum Laude honors. While at SLU, she was a member of Phi Kappa Phi and the 13 Club Honor Society. Dr. Lavergne later attended Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine and received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1988. After graduation, she worked as a small animal veterinarian in LaPlace for 10 years. She has been a member of our staff since 1998.

Dr. Lavergne and her husband, Phil, are proud parents of their 4 children and grandchildren. She enjoys spending time with family and friends. Her hobbies include camping, gardening, and reading. Dr. Lavergne is presently a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Louisiana Veterinary Medical Association, and the local Florida Parishes Veterinary Medical Association.
