Dr. Phyllis Strain

After more than 30 years of dedicated service in veterinary medicine, Dr. Phyllis Strain has come out of retirement to bring her exceptional experience and compassionate care to pet families in Louisiana.
A graduate of the Iowa State College of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Strain previously owned and operated two AAHA-accredited hospitals in Iowa, where she served as both practice owner and medical director. Her leadership, surgical skill, and deep commitment to patient well-being earned her a loyal following of clients who valued her honest, compassionate, and comprehensive approach to care.
Dr. Strain has advanced training in integrative and regenerative medicine, combining traditional and holistic therapies to help pets heal and thrive. She offers joint injections with AlphaFlo, as well as veterinary chiropractic and acupuncture treatments to support pain management, mobility, and overall wellness.

Dr. Strain also has a strong passion for surgery, particularly orthopedic procedures, and takes pride in tailoring each patient’s treatment plan to their unique needs.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Strain enjoys spending time outdoors and especially loves horseback riding, a lifelong passion that reflects her deep connection with animals.
